Scheme employers can apply to the Fund for an estimate of pension benefits in advance of an employee leaving the scheme where:
- The employer has the final decision on retirement.
- There could be a cost to the employer.
You can request an estimate for
- Ill health retirement.
- Flexible retirement.
- Redundancy or efficiency retirement.
- Retirement with employer consent (Waiving all or part reduction).
The reasons listed are for benefits where the employer has the final decision on retirement and cannot be provided at the request of the employee.
Apply for an estimate of pension benefits
You can apply for an estimate by completing the Estimate form and uploading this to the employee’s i-Connect record.
Do not submit an estimate request more than one year before the estimated leaving date as our member services team will not be able to process this.
Complete the estimate form by choosing from the following options.
Redundancy or efficiency retirement
Use this form to apply for an estimate for an employee aged 55 and over leaving employment because of redundancy or efficiency retirement.

What happens next
Once the estimate has been processed, a letter outlining the pension benefits and any Strain on Fund costs of the retirement, will be sent to the authorised contact for the employer that requested the estimate, this is usually uploaded to GlobalScape.
