Implementation of 2024 Local Government NJC pay award

Following the announcement that the Local Government Services National Joint Council (NJC) 2024/25 pay award has been agreed and back dated to 1 April 2024, any members who have left or retired since 1 April 2024 will need their benefits recalculated using the revised pensionable pay.

Current employees (Active members)

Monthly online return (OLR)

No action is required. The backdated pay will be reported using your monthly return.

To ensure the file upload does not cause any duplicate member records please send your i-Connect extract for the payroll period the pay award is applied using GlobalScape secure data transfer. We will then load the extract file on your behalf. 

Leavers from 1 April 2024

Employees that have retired since 1 April 2024

You should apply the pay award and complete the form LGPS15A with the revised pay information and return the forms to us securely using i-Connect document upload.

For other leavers 

To recalculate benefits we need to know:

  • If you have applied the pay award to non-retirement cases. 
  • The circumstances you will be applying the back dated pay award. 
  • Any amended pensionable pay.
